Travis Carr


Travis Carr is a writer, editor, director, and producer in New York City.

His work has been recognized through awards and various film festivals, including the Cork International Film Festival, Rehoboth Beach Film Festival, ZEBRA Poetry Film Festival, SketchFest Seattle, Big Mini Media Festival, Wild and Scenic Film Festival, and American Zoetrope.production photo

His pilot script 'Post Mortem' was recently named one of the Top 100 Pilots of 2017 by Tracking Board. It was also in 2nd Round Consideration for Sundance Episodic Labs, and was a 2nd Rounder (Quarterfinalist) in Austin Screenwriting Festival.

It has also racked up wins in such festivals as Launch Pad Pilots Competition, Shore Scripts TV Pilot competition, CineStory TV/Digital Fellowship, NY Metropolitan Screenwriting Competition, Screencraft Pilot Launch, and Screencraft Screenwriting Fellowship.

His feature-length screenplay 'Hopeless, Romantic' has also been recognized in 2nd Round Consideration for the Sundance Screenwriters Lab 2012.

His freelance comedy and film writing has appeared in Neutrons Protons, Thought Catalog, Cinephile, and American Zoetrope.

He currently works as an Editor for 'House Hunters International' (HGTV), produced by Leopard USA and in the past has worked on various other reality/documentary programs for PBS, DIY, HGTV, Food Network, CNBC, Funny or Die, and various web content.

He has trained in sketch comedy writing at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre since 2014, having gone through their sketch program, including electives and advanced courses.

Travis Carr graduated magna cum laude from Salisbury University in May of 2010, with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Media Production, and a minor in Film Studies. He was also a member of Phi Kappa Phi honor society, Lambda Pi Eta Communication Arts honor society, the National Broadcasting Society, and the National Society of Leadership and Success, Sigma Alpha Pi.
